Welcome!
On
behalf of the Steering Committee for 2002 IEEE MTT-S International
Microwave Symposium, I invite all of you to
Seattle,
Washington.
The symposium is sponsored by the IEEE Microwave Theory
and Techniques Society (MTT-S). IMS 2002 forms the cornerstone
in a week of microwave-related activities that includes the
Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC
Symposium, the Automatic RF Techniques Group (ARFTG)
Conference, a vendor exhibition, and a number of MTT-S meetings.
This forum for technical exchange serves the international microwave
community.
This
year marks the 50th anniversary of the Microwave Theory and
Techniques Society. The IMS2002 microwave week will start on
Sunday June 2, and continue through Friday June 7, 2002. It
will be held at the
Washington
State Trade and Convention Center,
in the heart of downtown Seattle.
The
IMS2002 technical program will continue the excellent tradition
of previous years, including parallel technical sessions, focused
sessions and workshops featuring the latest global microwave
and RF technology developments.
The
downtown Seattle area is one of the number one tourist locations
in the country. Our Local Arrangements Committee has reserved
nearly 3000 hotel rooms in the downtown area. Most of the hotels
are within easy walking distance of the convention center and
nearby attractions.
The
Local Arrangements Committee is also preparing exciting social
and guest programs to enjoy the natural beauty of Seattle and
the surrounding areas.
The
Steering Committee and I look forward to hosting IMS2002 and
the celebration of the MTT-S fiftieth anniversary. We
know you will enjoy the symposium in this new location.

Harvey
General Chairman
