AM3 – October 2019 – Overview Schedule

Thursday, 3 October:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • SHUTTLE SERVICE from Paris to Bruges (one-way only).
  • Departure time 6:00 pm from Marriott Paris Rive Gauche.
  • Be at the Marriott hotel by 5:45 pm to ensure an on-time departure.
  • Sign-Up Sheet:  Shuttle Service from EuMW to AM3 | Sign up Sheet
  • Be sure to register for the shuttle service no later than September 20th.
  • Note:  There will NOT be a shuttle service offered that departs Bruges at the end of AM3

Friday, 4 October:

  • Lunch is not provided as part of any tour. Each person is to arrange on their own.

9:00am – 3:30pm       Tourist Activities in Bruges (options below)

9:00am – 11:00am     World Heritage Walking Tour with Tour Guide

Cost is estimated to be less than 10 EUR/person.

10:00am – 10:50am   Mini-Bus Tour of Bruges (50 minutes)

(Runs 2x per hour, on the hour and half until 5:30pm)

11:15am – 12:30pm   Brewery Bourgogne de Flandres Guided Tour & Tasting

10:00am – 10:30am   Canal Boat Tour of Bruges (30 minutes)

(offered multiple times each hour through 5:30pm)

Pay cash, 10 EUR/person, upon arrival at boat dock/boarding platform.

2:00pm – 2:30pm       Chocolate Tour

Location: Chocolatier Depla, Mariastraat 20

Meet at venue no later than 2:00pm

Cost is estimated to be approx. 7,5 EUR/person.

5:00pm – 6:00pm       Obtain name badge prior to reception (Hotel Lobby)

6:00pm – 7:00pm       AdCom reception (offsite at the historic Town Hall)

7:30pm – 10:30pm     Various committee meetings

 

Saturday, 5 October:

8:00am – 12:00pm     Various committee meetings

1:00pm – 3:00pm       Various committee meetings

3:30pm – 7:00pm       AdCom meeting

7:30pm – 9:00pm       AdCom dinner (offsite)

 

Sunday, 6 October:

8:00am – 12:00pm     AdCom meeting

1:30pm – 7:00pm       AdCom meeting

7:00pm                       Meeting adjourns

Venue

  • Location: Bruges, Belgium
  • Dates: October 4 – 6, 2019  (After EuMW in Paris)
    • Arrive Thursday evening and leave Friday open to explore beautiful Bruges
  • Meeting Hotel: Crowne Plaza Bruges

      • Reservation cutoff is 15 August 2019, after this date the rooms can be booked based on availability.
  • Occurs the weekend after EuMW 2019 in Paris.

Travel Tips:

From EuMW: Take the train between Paris and Bruges

  • Book a train ticket using https://www.belgiantrain.be/en
    • Paris-Nord to “Brussels-Midi” station (French) / “Brussel-Zuid” (Dutch)  – roughly 1hr 30min
    • Connect onto a train that continues to Bruges – roughly 1 hour

Direct to AdCom: Fly into Brussels and then take a train to Bruges

Return Flight: Take a train back to Brussels and/or Paris.

    • International flights to North America and Asia typically depart mornings/early afternoons
