Young Professionals at European Microwave Week

Bringing industry and academia together, European Microwave Week 2017 (EuMW 2017) was a six day event held in Nuremberg, Germany, October 8–13, including three cutting edge conferences and a trade and technology exhibition featuring leading players from across the globe. As one of world’s biggest technical events, EuMW 2017 grows far beyond the microwave technologies – it is a meeting place for young industry engineers and researchers, and a merging point of industry and academia. With 220 industrial exhibitors, 1600 registered participants and 4000 attendees, this is one of the largest technical events in the Region 8.

The 1st ever IEEE RF & μW Boot Camp was organized by Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), Mexico on July 24th, 2017. After the advent of Latin America Microwave Conference (LAMC 2016), there was a greater need of involving Young Professionals to provide them better insight in RF & Microwave practical design work. Recognized worldwide as the “Mexican Silicon Valley”, Guadalajara nests 21 universities of higher education and 2 federal scientific research centers.

The rollout of any new generation of mobile network technology is never as simple as flicking on a light switch. The 18th annual IEEE Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference (WAMICON) 2017 will be held in Cocoa Beach, Florida on April 24-25, 2017. The conference aims to address up-to-date multidisciplinary research needs and interdisciplinary aspects of wireless and RF technology. The IEEE and MTT-S Young Professionals event at the 11th IEEE Radio and Wireless Week (RWW 2017), which concluded on 16th January 2017, was a great success. The workshop was an excellent platform for sharing knowledge among the wireless community. Young professionals from all over the Phoenix area took part in this workshop, giving them the opportunity to speak and network with executives from the wireless industry.

MTTS SIGHT has been partnering and making an impact in various events in different parts of Asia and Latin America. With good progress on different fronts, the expectation of bringing sustainable models for humanitarian activities become very important. With this quest, we worked on a concept of "Makeathon" - the technical marathons, which provided technical solutions to humanitarian challenges. The concept can be summarized in simple words as bringing in the bunch of engineers, locking them in a big room with tools and providing them a problem statement which they have to solve in 72 hours.
